New tweens class starting december 2014

This is a class for 10-12 year old girls, designed to support them physically and emotionally through the changes they are experiencing. We are finding that children are feeling the effects of stress at an early age. This class will give the girls tools to cope with what life throws at them...truly learning skills for life!

It is a fun, relaxed class using yoga, positive thought, mindfulness and meditation to create a safe space for the girls to come together and learn, grow and relax. The class will be followed by a pizza or pasta supper in the cafe to give them a bit of time together to hang out. 

in our first week we made lists of things that made us smile in the front of our yoga books, which gave chance to have a discussion about the positive things in our lives. we practiced yoga poses that will help the girls maintain flexibility and strength as well as supporting the nervous system. We talked about meditation and mindfulness, practicing both of these. The class finished with some reflective time, writing what we enjoyed most be (artificial) candlelight, after a relaxation. The girls all left saying it was 'awesome' and happily chatted over a pizza about how much better they felt.

This class is supported by the owners of the venue, the Hive, hence we are able to offer it at just £5 per child.
